simply because thousands of others believe it–on many important subjects the majority of persons always have been wrong.
Nearly every person believed in slavery a few years ago–nearly every person believed the earth flat a few centuries since–nearly every person, a few years ago, believed all diseases to be the result of special providences, and even a few believe it yet–thus you see any thing can be believed.
