the early bird and worm story–it is a musty old chestnut.  Teach them that very few early risers ever amount to much, and that early rising is not healthful.

an empty stomach–it is contrary to nature, and no healthy person can sleep well if the stomach is empty.  Tell those persons who do not believe this doctrine they are “green”.

–give them an abundance of bread made from the whole wheat.  Bread made of finely bolted flour is not good for them–their bones and muscles require something more substantial.
