If the fashion suits you and is sensible, follow it; if it is not, have things made to suit yourself.  Independence in this respect is highly commendable, to say the least.

–it is silly, and spoils your looks.

–you may be mistaken for a cologne factory.

–it is as objectionable as being over-fashionable.

–you are not companionable.

unless you are a woman–goosey men only, do such a thing.

unless you are a woman–long hair and crank are intimate acquaintances.

–they are unnatural, and produce many nervous disorders, besides making you awkward and pigeon-toed.

–it proclaims you a fashion idiot.  The man or woman who wears such boots or shoes, and produces corns and bunions, is a mental crank.

–give your body room to move freely.
